Interesting, littlefedi takes a bit more RAM to compile than I expected -- make build allreleases peaked at 19.7 GB of RAM use on the build machine. Something to bear in mind. #littlefedi

@bpl @rqm I think it's a Go caching "issue". I compiled everything with a 4GB ram device.

And the full builds are made on my MacBook Pro M1 (which has 16GB total ram, but quite busy)

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe @bpl@snac.bsd.cafe It definitely is that. Each platform built increased overall RAM use with ~1Gb after a while; especially the "exotic" platforms.

@bpl @rqm ok :-) Who said that self hosting is bad?

@bpl@snac.bsd.cafe @rqm@0xde501a7a.net self-hosting is bad in the same way hanging your kitchen cabinets is bad

They work and are probably fine, but you're always worried they're going to fall off the wall and trash the rest of your house in the process

@paul@paulwilde.uk @bpl@snac.bsd.cafe On the other hand, judging from the quality of the installation in our kitchen, I don't think I would be more worried if I did it...
